At the beginning of the month, Xiaomi’s CEO, Lei Jun, announced that the Mi 11 will be the world’s first phone to come with a spanking new Snapdragon 888 flagship processor. Now a tip we just got gives us the exact date the launch will occur.
The source of the information is the same person who told us of the Mi Watch Lite launch date and who checked it out. Xiaomi has set December 29 as the date it plans to unleash the Mi 11, according to him. Unfortunately, whether this is going to be a global launch case or for China, we are not sure.
An earlier report said the phone will go on sale this month as well. Seeing that if the launch date of December 29 turns out to be valid, there are only 2 days left before the end of the month, then it is fair to say that the phone will go on sale the same day it is revealed.
Although this tipster has not given us a reason to doubt him, with regard to the launch of the smartphone, there is a possibility that Xiaomi could decide to change its plans. Nevertheless, once it chooses to ship, the Mi 11 will be the world’s first smartphone with a new chipset.
Leaked renders suggest that the flagship would have a curved panel at the top left corner of the screen with a punch hole. A transition from that of its predecessor has taken place in the rear design. There are also fewer cameras, three down from the Mi 10 5G’s quad-camera configuration. A leak revealed that the primary camera is a 108MP sensor and a 13MP ultrawide camera and a 5MP macro camera are included with it.
A 120Hz refresh rate, a 4780mAh battery capacity with support for 55W fast wired charging, and a latest version of MIUI 12.5 based on Android 11.
