Italian authorities fine Apple iPhone 10 million euros

The Italian national agency AGCM said that Apple claims that their phone does not break down immediately after falling into the water, but in real life it has been shown that this is not the case and only then proved true. Occurs when it is tested in the laboratory with pure water.

The AGCM added that Apple’s refusal to issue a warranty in the event of a phone damage due to water is an “aggressive” strategy, even though the company itself says its phone is protected from water.

Apple claims in its iPhone ads that its phone will not break even if it stays in water up to four meters deep for half an hour.

Apple’s claims about its various models have been going on for years. They range from the iPhone 8 to the iPhone 11 and various versions of these models. But the company did not make it clear that the claim was valid only in the laboratory.

The AGCM ruled that Apple’s advertisement was misleading.

It should be noted that Apple has always said about its phones that they should not swim or take a bath with them and also writes about the warranty that if the phone is damaged due to a liquid thing, it will not have a warranty.

But according to Italian officials, Apple’s position on the warranty violates consumer rights in Italy.

He questioned the fact that on the one hand Apple promotes this feature of the phone so much but does not put it under warranty.

Apple has been fined two million euros, but the company has not responded or answered any questions.
