If you had to use one word to describe the Samsung Galaxy M51, the word would probably be massive. The budget handset is in our office with a 6.7-inch Super AMOLED Plus monitor and a massive battery, and we are about to see how good it is.
Samsung Galaxy M51 Specification
This is one of the few mid-range phones powered by a Qualcomm SoC in Samsung’s portfolio. Behind the wheel, the Snapdragon 730G is paired with either 6GB or 8GB of RAM. The best aspect is that 128GB, which is also expandable, is the room in both cases.
The humongous 7,000 mAh battery supporting reverse charging is arguably the most notable feature (so you can use it as a power bank). The M51 offers a heavy unit within a very manageable 9.5 mm thick shell, whereas most mid-range and even high-end devices stop at about the 5,000 mAh mark. At 213g, the weight is less than ideal, but for a phone of this size, it is not even that bad.
Very likely, in our battery rating, this may be the next endurance champion. Samsung claims that in 115 minutes, the 25W-capable charger bundled with the phone will charge it from 0 to 100%. That might sound like a ton, but we’re talking about a 7,000 mAh device. To find out how the Galaxy M51 will do in our real life tests, stay tuned for the full analysis.
The phone also carries on board 5 cameras. The main has a 64MP sensor and f/1.8 aperture, the ultrawide snapper reads 12MP f/2.2, while for macro photography a 5MP f/2.4 unit is used and another 5MP sensor is charged with gathering information about depth. The cutout is for a 32MP f/2.0 selfie cam on the front of the display.
The handset analysis is already underway and next week we will be able to share where the Galaxy M51 impresses and where it struggles at some point.
